Commitment to All Learners
Mason is committed to creating an environment that is welcoming and conducive to learning for all members of our diverse student and faculty population. Online faculty are encouraged to utilize all available resources to ensure that online classes are accessible.
ATI helps faculty address course accessibility needs pertaining to Universal Design, Section 508 Compliance, web accessibility, and the use of assistive technology. ATI provides free video captioning and audio/video description support to Mason faculty. Helpful resources include:
- Accessible Media Resources
- Accessible Text Resources
- Guide to Creating Accessible Electronic Materials
Disability Services (DS) coordinates Mason’s continued efforts to provide reasonable accommodations and disability-related services that afford equal access to university programs and activities. DS serves all students with disabilities, including those with cognitive, sensory, mobility, and other physical and/or mental impairments. Students with disabilities who seek course accommodations must register with DS and inform their instructor(s), in writing, at the beginning of each semester. Visit the DS website for more information.
