Online Assessment Options

As you plan your online course, please note that Mason supports testing solutions for distance education courses.

Remote Proctoring Tools

ODL maintains a campus-wide license for Respondus Monitor. This is a remote proctoring solution that integrates with Blackboard and is available to all Mason faculty. Faculty do not need to request permission to use Respondus tools.

Respondus Monitor works with Respondus Lockdown Browser so that students cannot leave the testing environment on their computer. Monitor records students while they are taking the test to deter cheating. See the Quick Start Guides.

Guidelines for Requesting Proctors. If you wish for your students to locate proctors for testing at a distance, please see the Distance Education Test Proctoring Guidelines.
